Marta Pinto Ribeiro started very early to know by heart the sound and color of a goldsmith workshop. The workshop where today works, and that influences the creation of her pieces, was once of her grandfather, so it is, therefore, not surprising that she feels familiarity and comfortable with occupying the workshop space. Despite the involuntary learning and strong interaction with the classic techniques of jewellery, her collections cover a harmonious blend of empirical knowledge (passed on by her grandfather), technical knowledge (obtained in technical school) and the artistic knowledge (acquired by Fine Arts Faculty), peaked in a contemporary approach, sustained in geometry, asymmetry, contrasts and volumes. Unique or limited collections, all parts are produced manually by the author.
Marta Pinto Ribeiro, born in 1980, in Porto. She has a degree in Fine Arts - Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Porto and a Master in Arts and Cultural Management from ESE/ Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Also has done a professional training in Jewellery Techniques at CINDOR (2006).
Her workshop was once her grandfather's, and this intimate and pleasant relation with the space reflect in the creation of her pieces.
